Cooperation in Research and Teaching: University of Bonn meets the Bayer Schering Pharma AG

In 2010, the University of Bonn has officially launched a cooperation agreement with the Bayer Schering Pharma for the promotion of young investigators and for initiating scienctific cooperation projects in the LIMES Institute and the PharmaCenter Bonn. To this end, Bayer Schering Pharma will provide for the next three years prizes for the best PhD theses and fellowships for promising young inverstigators. In addition, regular scientific meetings will take place to identifiy common research interests and to foster scientific cooperation projects.
On September 22 and 23, the first of these meetings has taken place in the LIMES Institute. About 100 participating scientists met for a two days symposium including 9 members of Bayer Schering Pharma - among them Prof. Dr. Hanno Wild who is the Head of Global Lead Generation and Optimization within Global Drug Discovery at Bayer Schering Pharma (BSP). Five laureates were honored by the awarding of PhD fellowships and prizes for the best PhD theses in 2010.
